Autism Acceptance Month 2026

International Autism Acceptance Month – April 2026

Thursday, April 2, 2026

We are now officially in April 2026, which means International Autism Acceptance Month is once again upon us. Throughout April, individuals and organisations are encouraged to reflect on, discuss, and take practical steps to help make our Island more ASC‑friendly.

This year marks the fourth consecutive year that the Isle of Man Government has delivered a month‑long campaign focused on promoting autism acceptance, raising awareness, and improving understanding. The campaign supports our shared ambition to build a more inclusive, supportive and welcoming Island for everyone in our community.

Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Strategy

The Isle of Man Health, Learning and Social Policy Board Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Strategy is ongoing. The overall aim of the strategy is clear and simple: to create an ASC‑friendly Island.

To support this ambition, the strategy sets out six key goals, each with associated target dates for implementation:

  • Increase community awareness and acceptance of Autism Spectrum Condition
  • Reduce health and social care inequalities for people with ASC
  • Provide high‑quality, safe and clearly defined all‑age diagnostic and support pathways
  • Improve professional awareness, knowledge and capability across public service providers
  • Improve access to education, support and transitions at all stages of learning
  • Improve the everyday experiences of people with ASC, as well as their carers and families

Together, these goals provide a clear framework for creating meaningful, lasting improvements in how people with ASC experience life on the Island.
